Another month has passed, and I’m going to take a look at my progress for the goals I set for October. I have been trying to set around eight goals a month since it’s my favorite number.
Read two books
The first goal in October was to read two books. I was able to finish three books and get halfway on a 4th book. I read Creativity, Inc.: Overcoming the Unseen Forces That Stand in the Way of True Inspiration, Accidental Project Manager: Zero to Hero in 7 Days, and Rich Dad, Poor Dad. The fourth book I started to read is Ultralearning: Master Hard Skills, Outsmart the Competition, and Accelerate Your Career. I surpassed this goal and look forward to finishing Ultralearning and find two new books to read for next month.
My next goal was to learn some Turkish using Duolingo and get 50xp every day on their app. I ended up getting 100xp every day, and I was able to do this every day.
The next goal was to draw every day. I was maintaining this for about a week or two, but then I just stopped. I think my addiction to sci-fi and fantasy television got in the way. Fall TV is back, and I recently also added Fear The Walking Dead to my playlist of TV shows to watch. I watch an absurd amount of television shows, so drawing took a back seat.
I started Fear the walking dead from season 1, and I’m on season 4, episode 16. The shows currently airing that I’m watching as they come out are Titans, Nancy Drew, Arrow, Flash, Batwoman, Super Girl, Supernatural, Charmed, and Legacies. Once I finish with Fear the walking dead, I will move on to Season 2 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan on Amazon. I watch so many shows I have to track them on trakt.tv; if not, I might forget to watch them. If you want to see my profile to see everything I watch it is https://trakt.tv/users/izzy218. I’m not a very good critique, I tend to love everything I watch.
Increase savings by $1000
The next goal was to increase my savings for my next rental property by $1000. I was able to complete this by adding $500 a paycheck to my goal. A total of $18.83 was also received in interest on the Wealthfront account. I expect the interest to go down again since the fed cut interest rates a few days ago. I will likely move my money from Wealthfront to Robinhood when their cash management program comes out.
Increase dividends by $30
I set a goal to increase my yearly dividends on Robinhood by $30, and I was able to increase it by $49.94 a year. To complete this, I deposited $110 on Oct 8, $202.62 on Oct 11, $399.23 on Oct 23, and $445.89 on Oct 25.
Enroll in kickboxing
My next goal was to enroll in kickboxing. I failed to do this again; I guess I just haven’t had the motivation to take this class quite yet. My pass expires in December, so hopefully, I won’t let it expire before using it.
Two free stocks with Webull
My next goal was to get two free stocks with Webull. I ended up getting three stocks because I got another friend to join. I signed up for an account and was rewarded a stock in Bios valued at $3.63, and two stocks in GE valued at $10.29 for investing $100 and for my friend investing $100. My friend got the same two stocks, which is about an instant 15% return on the $100 deposit. I was able to complete this goal if anyone else is interested in getting free stocks sign up with my referral code, the stock for depositing $100 can be valued $8 – $1000. If you deposit $100, let us know what you receive in the comments below.
Airline miles signup bonus
My last goal was to finish getting the signup bonus from my new American Airlines credit card. To get the miles, I have to spend $2000 before Dec 2, and I have spent $1,346. I’m 2/3rds the way there and will make sure I complete this by December.
